HTML and CSS can’t vote!

NO! You are not supporting internet.org if you have changed your profile picture recently to support Digital India.

This above image is HTML and CSS. It is used just for displaying purpose and styling (trust me, I am an engineer), this doesn’t prove we have voted. The code is just re-used by facebook from internet.org. In case if you don’t trust me, here is the link to HTML Classes tutorial, you will learn some HTML and CSS too. 😛

And above is the image from http://allindiaroundup.com/news/supporting-digital-india-means-anti-net-neutrality/. Actually I am laughing more on the link. They have displayed comments dated from “August 2015”. Do I need to say anything more about the link ?

And just now India’s Internet News Paper HuffPost India has tweeted

The link in the tweet reads:

Responding to a query, a Facebook spokesperson told HuffPost India that there was no connection between the tricolour DP and Internet.org. “There is absolutely no connection between updating your profile picture for digital India and Internet.org. An engineer mistakenly used the words “Internet.org profile picture” as a shorthand name he chose for part of the code. But this product in no way connects to or registers support for Internet.org. We are changing the code today to eliminate any confusion.”

So yes, you can express support for Digital India if you want to, without worrying that it will count as a yes vote for Internet.org.

Yes, as far as I know internet.org is against net neutrality(I would like to learn more about it, if it is not). But you are not voting for it, you are simply supporting Digital India.

Free Basics is only available with a Reliance SIM card. Access internet.org for more details, but don’t click on “Let Us Know”, that might give them a vote. 😀
